Description for Ivy the Very Determined Dog

Review This book is beautiful. It is not only for children as I gave it to my college daughter to inspire her to never give up. Ivy doesn t see the obstacles she has a wonderful soul and her parents and sister Rosie are so supportive it truly will make anyone who is down feel better. I love it and plan to purchase a few more for friends!! Even my frenchie Stella loves the book . --Nancy Marie ArochoI read Ivy the Very Determined Dog to my 3rd graders the first week of school. This book fits so well into our Growth Mindset theme! My students loved the book, were very engaged in talking about the message of overcoming challenges, and especially loved the photographs and descriptions in Ivy s bio. The story is very sweet and the illustrations are adorable. --Tomi Vensel Read more About the Author Chris and Maureen Harrington (husband and wife and proud parents of Ivy) are the authors of Ivy the Very Determined Dog. Five years ago Ivy came into their lives and filled their home with Frenchie kisses and love. Never could they have imagined just how much happiness she would bring, or that she would teach them some of the most important lessons in life. At the age of three, Ivy was diagnosed with a rare genetic spinal disease which has left her paralyzed in her back legs. How could Ivy ever chase her ball again? How could she play with her best friends, or simply stand to eat dinner? All questions that ran through Chris and Maureen's mind. Over time, Ivy began to show the world how. She began taking wobbly steps on just two paws. Each day she grew stronger and stronger and was more determined than the next. It was, and still is, a true inspiration to watch. Chris and Maureen began to document Ivy's progress on Instagram (@ivy.the.frenchie) to provide health updates to family and friends and maybe help another pup going through a similar situation. They began to notice that Ivy's page was that, but it also became a place for people to go for inspiration. Messages flurried in daily from all over the world sharing what an inspiration Ivy is to them in their lives. Whether it is someone (human or furry) bound to a wheelchair, a dog owner going through a similar situation looking for advice and moral support, or someone who just needs an inspiration (on a RUFF day), Ivy can help relate and brighten their inner strength. Ivy is the inspiration behind the book, but her fans and supporters are the reason the book was written. Read more
